Reclaimed Wood Outdoor Tables made for Thule Group
Showcasing sustainable design in Seymour
Presenting two carefully crafted reclaimed wood outdoor tables. Our partnership with Thule Group in Seymour, Connecticut, brought together two teams passionate about innovation, sustainability, and quality craftsmanship. Thule, known for their sleek and functional designs, wanted outdoor tables that reflected their brand. At Reworx, we specialize in turning reclaimed materials into strong and stylish pieces, making us a perfect fit for this project.

Project Scope

Sustainable Material Selection

For this project, we chose recycled Southern Yellow Heart Pine. Known for its rich patterns and durability, it is the perfect material for this project. Sourced from industrial remnants, it fits the style of the building and the emphasis on reclaimed material.

Durability

A significant advantage of the reclaimed Southern Yellow Heart Pine is its exceptional weather resistance. Because the project consists of two outdoor tables in New England, we had to choose a hardy material to withstand the changing weather. Its exceptional weather resistance makes it ideal for outdoor furniture.

Custom Design

Reworx and Thule prioritize sustainability, and this project reflects a mutual dedication to environmental mindfulness. From carefully selected wood to showcase rich grains to crafting a sleek piece, the tables carefully reflect the style and mission of Thule Group.

Seating Capacity

Considering the goal was to build a conference and picnic table, we had to ensure plenty of seating for the whole team. These tables fit ideally below a pavilion and have enough space to feel personal but not on top of one another.

Reclaimed Wood Selection & Craftsmanship
Preserving Natural Grain

We take great pride in selecting wood when crafting a new piece. For this Seymour project, we took care to preserve the gorgeous natural grain of the Southern Yellow Heart Pine that has a honey-like to amber color. The tight grain patterns are visually striking, creating straight, wavy, and sometimes interlocking patterns.

Reinforcing with Protective Finish

Due to the nature of this build, we had to ensure the tables would last a long time. Our product of choice is Thompson’s Water Seal, a powerful waterproofing wood sealer. We apply two coats with a brush, and the tables are ready for the weather.

Structural Stability

Of course, these tables are more than their appearance. They had to be functionally sound to withstand the weight of the heavy wood and constant use. We used sturdy metal frames for both tables, which we guarantee will last many years.

Sustainability Goals

Both Reworx and Thule prioritize sustainability, and this project reflects a mutual dedication to environmental mindfulness. By repurposing Heart Pine beams salvaged from industrial buildings, the collection highlights a commitment to reducing waste and preserving natural resources.
Why Choose Us

For years, Reworx has been recycling wood into pieces that clients can be proud of. By emphasizing the use of recycled material and paying close attention to detail, we produce unique furniture for any style. These reclaimed outdoor tables are one example of the countless works of art we’ve produced.
